![]() There's also a trick where you could also create a script that changes the Exif data to a slightly older camera in the same family (for me D7200). Once converted, then I'm able to import them into Lightroom. I currently have to convert all of the NEF (Nikon RAW) files to DNG's with Adobe Converter. The only problem is that I still have LR5 which Adobe stopped support for at the D7200. I have a D7300 which I plan on keeping for just as long. I shot photo's on a Nikon D80 which I just recently retired. I also tend to use the same camera for years/decades. I don't care for the subscription business model and I don't do anything in the cloud. If your camera is currently supported and you don't plan on replacing it anytime soon then I'd go for LR6. Problem is later down the road, you're going to get a new camera that's not supported and will have to do a two-step process to import them. Lightroom 6 is still supported by Adobe so there will be updates to include new cameras, at least for now.
